    Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has said the promotion of products made from cow’s milk and ‘Panchagavya’ would be beneficial for human health. This will also strengthen cow protection. This was stated by Shri Dattatraya during a courtesy meeting with Haryana Gau Seva Aayog vice chairman Shri Vidya Sagar Baghla today at Raj Bhavan. He said the Gau Seva Aayog in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department, Gaushalas and other social institutions should provide facilities for training to make ‘Panchagavya’ products for the general public and also cooperate in marketing these products. With this, these products will reach from local to global and will be an important step towards self-reliance. He said that more and more use of cow products can prevent serious diseases as well. Cow protection is a very important step to increase cow production. Shri Dattatraya praised the Haryana government for the formation of Gau Seva Aayog and said that there is a need to run programs for cow protection in the state through Gau Seva Aayog. Shri Dattatraya said that organic farming can also be promoted by using more and more organic manures made from cow dung in agriculture. This will also increase the income of farmers and farming will become a profitable business. Gau Seva Aayog Vice Chairman Shri Vidya Sagar Baghla informed that five lakh cows have been preserved in various Gaushalas of Haryana, out of which Rs 300 to Rs 500 is being given to buy fodder for each cow. He informed that Haryana Gauvansh Anusandhan Kendra has been established in Pinjore to prepare organic manure and other products made from cow dung. For this, research is being done in making organic manure with the technical support of IIT Roorkee. This organic fertilizer is DAP, an alternative of manure and farmers will get it at cheaper rates. With the use of organic manure, crop production will also increase. He informed that cow’s milk, ghee and cow urine products are being prepared in various Gaushalas in the state. As many as 2000 youths have also been trained in Gaushalas for making these products.
