It is of paramount importance to ensure that our youths have the knowledge of constitutional values and laws so that they are more aware of their rights and duties. Teachers should make students aware of the constitutional and moral values along with imparting quality education to them. This was stated by Governor-Chancellor Sh Bandaru Dattatraya while interacting with Dr Vinay Kapoor Mehra, Vice Chancellor of Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat, here today. Prof (Dr) Mehra had made a courtesy call on Governor-Chancellor Sh Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan on Thursday and apprised him of the activities of the university and the future roadmap. Sh Dattatraya said that today there is a need to make youth aware of their rights and duties which enable us to make an ideal society where there is no crime of any kind. He said that in the new National Education Policy-2020, an emphasis has been laid on the importance of constitutional and moral values. He said that with regard to legal education, the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020) clearly mentions that teaching of law in India has to be globally competitive, for which the universities need to adopt best practices, and new technologies. He also emphasised on signing MOUs with reputed universities to impart world class education to students. Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Vinay Kapoor Mehra said that she is determined to create a better educational environment and provide world class education to students. For this, MOUs have been signed with seven universities of the country to give a boost to research activities and conduct faculty exchange programmes.
