    Serving people is the service to God – Govneror

    Chandigarh, December 15, 2021: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday said that serving people is the service to God. A society free from any kind of exclusion and discrimination is a godly situation, said Shri Dattatraya while addressing the closing ceremony of 26th State Level Ambulance Competition as the Chief Guest at Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantonment.
    Appreciating the work done by St John Ambulance, Shri Dattatraya said that volunteers, social workers, religious, government, non-government and other voluntary organizations, and social help groups played a critical role in helping people with help and hope while combating Covid-19.
    He said that youths are the backbone of our country. “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has channelized the energy of youths, who have undertaken the task of ‘Bharat Jago, Vishwa Jagao,’ a rare campaign towards making India Vishwa Guru. “Youth of Haryana have also established themselves globally in various fields like sports and defence,” he said.
    Talking about the launch of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign on March 15, 2015 from Panipat, the Governor said the sex ratio is increasing. “Women in Haryana have benefited like anything from schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Mahila and Kishori Samman Yojana and Chief Minister’s Milk Uphaar Yojana,” he said.
    “A budget provision of Rs 1621 crore has been made by the state government for the Women and Child Welfare Department in the year 2020-21. Haryana is the first state to implement Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana. 15.5 lakh beneficiary families in Haryana have been identified,” he said.
    Shri Dattatraya appealed to youth to take inspiration from the martyrdom of great people and work to strengthen the country. He said that competitions like one which has been organized today increase youth’s working capacity and knowledge as well.
    He congratulated all the winning teams and expressed hope that they will continue to serve humanity and make progress in their lives as well.
    On this occasion, Health, Home and Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij said that together we can make this earth a better place to live. “The greatest teaching of the Gita is – Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – which means that we are all children of Vasudeva and also members of his family.”
    Divisional Commissioner Smt Renu S Phulia, Deputy Commissioner Shri Vikram Singh, Superintendent of Police Jashandeep Singh Randhawa, Vice President of St John’s Ambulance Smt Sushma Gupta, St John’s Ambulance Haryana Commissioner and State Secretary Dr D R Sharma and other officials, dignitaries were present on the occasion.
