    Chandigarh, December 7, 2021: Shri SS Kaushal, father of martyr Captain Rohit Kaushal, on Tuesday handed over the cheque of Rs 51,000 to Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya for the Rajya Sainik Board, Panchkula for the welfare of the needy war widows and their children.

    Captain Rohit Kaushal was martyred while defending the country in an encounter with terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir in 1995. He faced the terrorists with indomitable courage and fearlessness. The Government of India posthumously awarded him the Sena Medal for his gallantry.

    Governor Shri Dattatraya said that the sacrifice of a martyr like Captain Rohit Kaushal, who protected the motherland, can never be forgotten. He appealed to the youth to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and work for the unity and integrity of the country.
