Hon’ble Governor visit Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital , Panchkula
Haryana Governor, Sh Bandaru Dattatreya said that infrastructural facilities in Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital, Panchkula would be upgraded to provide better medical facilities related to bone, joints and physiotherapy to the patients so that maximum patients could be benefitted. Governor, Sh Bandaru Dattatreya today made a surprise visit to the Saket Hospital and took stock of all the medical facilities being made available to the patients. He also interacted with the patients and got first hand information about the facilities being provided to them in the hospital. Secretary to Governor, Sh Atul Dwivedi was also present on the occasion. During his visit to the hospital, Sh Dattatreya directed the hospital authorities to start an online registration facility for the patients. He said that through advance registration, patients would not only be able to avail better health facilities but also their time would be saved considerably. Besides, he also directed that for the convenience of senior citizens, the timings of OPD for senior citizens should be fixed from 3 pm to 5 pm. He said that special emphasis should be given to the OPDs of women and children. The Governor said that there is also a need to further expand the surgery OPD and physiotherapy facility in the hospital. He directed that proper sitting arrangements should be made for the patients visiting the hospital so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience. To provide better physiotherapy facilities to the patients, the number of physiotherapists in the hospital should be increased, he added. He said that there is a need for the expansion of operation theatre, laboratory and X-ray room in the hospital so that maximum patients could avail these facilities. Sh Bandaru Dattatreya further said that it should be ensured that all the poor people coming to the hospital are getting free treatment. He said that it should also ensure that eligible patients are getting the benefit of a free treatment facility under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He assured that there would be no paucity of funds for providing better health facilities to the patients in the hospital. The Governor said that he would also take up the matter with Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal regarding the upgradation of infrastructural facilities in Saket Hospital and Physiotherapy College. He said that besides the Government, the cooperation of voluntary organizations and other social organizations should be taken for the upgradation of the Hospital. He said that the hospital could also rope in some prosperous and financially sound people for this purpose. The Saket Hospital has a distinct identity and efforts would be made to further enhance the same, he further added. Later, Governor Sh Bandaru Dattatreya also interacted with the employees and officers of the Hospital and patiently heard their grievances. He assured that all their genuine problems would be resolved at the earliest. The Governor also had a word with them regarding increasing budget and other facilities for the hospital. He directed to make adequate arrangements for cleanliness and greenery, especially in the hospital premises. He said that the hospital should take the benefit of various schemes of centre and the state government and help the needy patients. Director, Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital, Dr Aparajita Saundh informed that 900 to 1000 operations are being done every year in the hospital. Apart from this, the X-ray facility for 150 people and physiotherapy facility for 50 people is being provided in the hospital everyday. She said that on an average 16 patients are being operated by the hospital in a week. She assured that existing facilities in the hospitals would be further increased. Among those present on this occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohd. Imran Raza, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mohit Handa and Doctors and other staff members of the Hospital.
