    Haryana Govt. will provide all possible help for the development of Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences: His Excellency the Governor and Chancellor of the University, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh

    Chandigarh, October 25: His Excellency the Governor, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, stated that the state government will provide all possible assistance for the development of Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences. The university has done significant work in the field of high-quality research. He will work towards strengthening the infrastructure in primary schools and primary health centers in the state. Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh announced a donation of ₹5 lakh from his voluntary fund to the university for children’s education, clean drinking water, and the purchase of necessary equipment for patients.
    His Excellency the Governor was chairing a meeting with the university’s faculty members at the local Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences campus. Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh is also the Chancellor of the university. Upon arrival at the university campus, the university administration welcomed His Excellency the Governor and the Chancellor of the University, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh. Asim Kumar Ghosh and his wife, Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and honored with a memento and a shawl. His Excellency the Governor stated that since the formation of Haryana, significant progress has been made in all sectors, including information technology, education, sports, and medicine.

    Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh stated that he has discussed with the Chief Minister the allocation of an increased budget for the development of the health and education sectors. Further work will be done to strengthen the infrastructure in primary schools and primary health centers across the state. The government is committed to providing quality healthcare to citizens. Steps are being taken to provide government hospitals with facilities comparable to those in private hospitals. He stated that the university’s doctors have performed commendably during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating their capabilities and talents. The doctors remained continuously engaged in serving the citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. The university has performed commendably not only in the field of medical education and patient treatment, but also in the field of quality research.

    University Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Aggarwal welcomed His Excellency the Governor and Chancellor of the University, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, and his wife, Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, and presented a brief overview of the university’s achievements. He stated that in 2008, the university had 55 affiliated colleges, and now this number has increased to 155. The university spans 379 acres and boasts a lush green campus. Numerous steps have been taken to make the university a green university. All government-initiated health programs are being implemented at the university.
    University Director Dr. S.K. Singhal provided detailed information about the university’s facilities and the medical services being provided to citizens. Present on this occasion were His Excellency the Governor’s ADC, Squadron Leader Mohan Krishna, SMO Dr. Rakesh Talwar, Personal Assistants Shankha Chatterjee and Rahul Dagar, Meham Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mukund Tanwar, and officials from the University of Health Sciences, including Dr. MG Vashishtha, Dr. Dhruv Chaudhary, Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Dr. Savita Singhal, Dr. Varun Arora, and staff members.

    His Excellency Governor Asim Kumar Ghosh visited the General Hospital, Rohtak, to review the facilities. The Governor inspected the emergency room and spoke with patients about the facilities there. He then inspected the children’s ward, interacted with the hospital staff, and obtained detailed information about them. He also inquired about the medicines available at the hospital. He also sought feedback from the staff regarding challenges and demands.
    Governor Asim Kumar Ghosh and his wife, Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, also distributed cards to two beneficiaries of the government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme. Earlier, Governor Asim Kumar Ghosh and his wife, Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, also planted trees in the hospital premises. Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramesh Chandra provided the Governor with detailed information about the hospital. PMO Dr. Renu and hospital staff were present.
