Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Friday extended his warm congratulations and best wishes to Shri Ramchandra Ahlawat
Chandigarh, January 14, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Friday extended his warm congratulations and best wishes to Shri Ramchandra Ahlawat, 76, resident of Lakadia, Jhajjar, for winning the Gold Medal at the recently held International Yoga Festival in Puducherry. Shri Ahlawat secured the first position among 50 plus age group participants.
Governor Shri Dattatraya, while encouraging him during a telephonic conversation today, said that doing yoga is the key to staying free from diseases in today’s time. Yoga strengthens people’s will power and makes them energetic. He advised Shri Ahlawat to spread the word about benefits of Yoga so that more and more people adopt Yoga to stay healthy.
He said that it is a matter of pride for Haryana that Shri Ahlawat has won the Gold Medal in Yoga. Thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 every year, which is taking the Indian Yoga system to every nook and corner of the world. The Haryana Governor said that Yoga is being promoted continuously in the country and the state, which is a matter of pride for the countrymen.
During this telephonic conversation, Shri Ahlawat thanked Shri Dattatraya and said that he is feeling very happy after getting good wishes and compliments from the state’s Governor.
Shri Ahlawat said that he is feeling encouraged and will try his level best to further promote yoga among the general public. He described yoga as an ideal way of life. He said that in the year 2009, he suffered from a serious illness and after that started yoga. His life changed and he is now completely healthy at the age of 76.
