Haryana Governor, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya said that children are the invaluable heritage of the nation. There is a need to pay more attention to the health, education, and nutrition of the future leadership generation of the country. Children are the form of God. It is the duty of all parents to nurture their children with love and affection. We also have to ensure that children are not exploited in any way. He said this while conveying his best wishes to the people of the state, especially the children, on the occasion of Children’s Day.
He said that the day of November 14 is dedicated to children. “Children’s Day” is being celebrated all over the country with joy and gaiety. This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Nehru Ji had great affection for children.
The Governor, Shri Dattatreya said that this year is being celebrated as Golden Jubilee by the Haryana State Child Welfare Council. The Council is carrying out enlightening and hygienic activities for children up to the age of 18 years through children buildings and small children buildings, including computer centres, craft centres, child-rearing centres, children’s libraries, model daycare centres, talent search programmes etc. The Council is providing residential services to orphans and destitute children through children’s homes. In addition, other important programmes including adoption, special adoption programme, elementary classes, evening classes and effort schools for special children, de-addiction centres, family counselling centres, sponsorship programmes as well as open shelter homes for poor children are also being run.
