Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya paying tribute to former Prime Minister Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri at Raj Bhavan

Chandigarh, January 11, 2023: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday paid his tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of his death anniversary at Raj Bhavan here.

The Governor said that Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri ji believed in moral values, simple living and high thinking. When there was a food crisis in the country, he called upon the countrymen to observe a one-day fast, he said.

Shri Dattatraya said that in order to encourage farmers, he gave the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ which helped the nation to overcome the food crisis.

Shri Dattatraya said that it was the decisive leadership of Late Prime Minister that India inflicted a crushing defeat on Pakistan in the 1965 war.

He said that today’s young generation needs to take inspiration from his ideals and struggle. This would be a true tribute to him.
