Chandigarh, May 6, 2022: Vice President of India Shri M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday planted a sapling of peepal in Raj Bhavan premises in the august presence of Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Gian Chand Gupta, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Dushyant Chautala, Punjab Governor Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann, Minister for Jails, Mining and Tourism Shri Harjot Singh Bains and other dignitaries.

Haryana Governor Shri Dattatraya planted the sapling of ‘amla,’ while Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal planted the sapling ‘banyan’ tree. Punjab Governor Shri Purohit planted the sapling of ‘Jamun,’ while Chief Minister Shri Bhagwat Mann of ‘Ashoka.’ Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Shri Dushyant Chautala planted the sampling of guava and Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Gian Chand Gupta planted the sapling ‘bael.’ ‘Panchavati’ plants are considered to be a rich source of oxygen.
Earlier, Vice President Shri Naidu was received by Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Dushyant Chautala, Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Gian Chand Gupta and Secretary to the Haryana Governor Shri Atul Dwivedi by presenting him with bouquets of flowers. Punjab Governor Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya also honoured Vice President Shri Naidu by presenting him a shawl and a painting.
