Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya felicitating students during ‘Nai Udaan-2022’ programme held at SPS International School, Palwal
Chandigarh, March 24, 2022: Concerted efforts must be made to equip our youth with technical skills, quality and value based education so that they play an important role in the progress of the nation. This was stated by Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya while addressing the annual cultural festival – ‘Nai Udaan – 2022’ organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration at SPS International School, Palwal on Wednesday evening.
On this occasion, Shri Dattatraya also unveiled many statues of great personalities like Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, noted monk Swami Vivekananda and great scientist Dr Jagdish Chandra Basu. Remembering martyrs and great personalities during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav makes us proud, said Shri Dattatraya.
Shri Dattatraya said for the wholesome development of students, the New Education Policy-2020 is being implemented in the country, which lays special emphasis on technical education and skill development. Haryana is the first state in the country which is implementing NEP-2020 by 2025.
He said that various programs like the National Youth Empowerment and Khelo India have been started by the Central government. A provision of more than five hundred and forty crore rupees has been made for 2022-23 to promote sports activities in Haryana. On this occasion, vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years to protect them from Covid-19 was also launched.
Former Haryana Education Minister Shri Ram Bilas Sharma, Palwal MLA Shri Deepak Mangla, Hodal MLA Shri Jagdish Nair, Hathin MLA Shri Praveen Dagar, Chairman SPS International School Shri Suresh Bhardwaj and other dignitaries were also present in the program.
