Chandigarh, March 25, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has congratulated and extended his best wishes to seven women entrepreneurs of Haryana, who have been honoured with NITI Aayog’s 5th edition of ‘Women Transforming India Award’ in recognition of their remarkable achievements. They are making great contributions towards a strong and capable India. Their feat is a matter of great pride and happiness for the people of the state, said Shri Dattatraya.

Shri Dattatraya said that these women have been selected for the award because of their significant participation in entrepreneurship. They are role models for the women of the state. It is a big achievement that seven women of a small state like Haryana have got the award, he said.

All this has been possible thanks to women empowerment schemes being run by the state government. Haryana has carved a niche for itself as a model state. NITI Aayog has selected 75 women from across the country for the ‘Women Transforming India’ award and seven of them are from Haryana.

Shri Dattatraya said that the women selected for the award from Haryana are Supriya Paul, Chahat Vasal, Dr Girija K Bharat, Anju Srivastava, Neetu Yadav, Suchi Mukherjee, and Aditi Bhutia Madan. All these women have created a space for themselves in the field of entrepreneurship. The state government including Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal deserves congratulations for creating a healthy environment for women entrepreneurs.

The Governor said that Haryana accounts for just two per cent of the total area of the country and about 2 per cent of the population. The selection of seven women by NITI Aayog for the national level award shows that women empowerment schemes in Haryana have started showing very positive results.

He said that the increase in sex ratio 2014 onwards shows that dozens of women development and welfare schemes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Women’s Helpline, Ladli, Kanya Samridhi Yojana and Balika Samridhi Yojana have given a big boost to women empowerment in the state.
