Esteemed members of cooperative movement, representatives of Self-Help Groups, women cooperatives, youth entrepreneurs, artisans, guests, Ladies and Gentlemen!
I am delighted to join you today at the state-level closing ceremony of the 72nd Cooperative Week, celebrated this year as a Cooperative Fair and Swadesh Mela.
This special initiative not only marks the culmination of a week dedicated to cooperative ideals but also showcases the vibrant power of India’s indigenous products, the creativity of our communities and the collective achievements of the cooperative sector in Haryana.
Ladies and Gentlemen
Cooperatives are engines of grassroots empowerment. They are built on the values of mutual support, shared responsibility and democratic participation, principles that are deeply rooted in our cultural and social fabric.
Over the decades, the cooperative movement has played a crucial role in transforming rural economies, strengthening livelihoods and nurturing social cohesion.
Today, as I walk through this Cooperative Fair and Swadesh Mela, I see more than products and displays. I see the resilience and aspirations of thousands of families who strive every day to create economic opportunities through collective effort.
I see women who are shaping their financial independence, youth who are turning innovation into enterprise, and farmers who are improving productivity and income through cooperative institutions.
Dear Friends,
Haryana under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini has been a frontrunner in the cooperative sector.
Our Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, dairy and sugar cooperatives, urban cooperative banks and village-level institutions have consistently demonstrated that when communities work together, they not only uplift themselves but also contribute to the progress of the entire state.
The State government’s emphasis on digitalization, transparency, and capacity building has further strengthened this ecosystem.
I am happy to share that the Government of India’s Ministry of Cooperation under the dynamic leadership of Shri Amit Shah Ji has initiated several measures across the country to strengthen the cooperative sector.
These include computerisation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), establishment of three new national-level cooperative societies and the setting up of Tribhuvan Sahkari University.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As we look to the future, the role of cooperatives becomes even more critical. India today is moving rapidly toward self-reliance, sustainable development and inclusive growth.
Your contribution reflects a new confidence emerging across Haryana, a confidence that comes from unity, creativity and self-belief.
I especially want to acknowledge the participation of Self-Help Groups, women cooperatives, artisan clusters and young entrepreneurs in this fair.
Let us work towards stronger governance, better training, modern technology adoption and wider market linkages so that our cooperative institutions can compete globally while remaining rooted in our local ethos.
I congratulate all the organizers, participants and stakeholders who have contributed to the success of the 72nd Cooperative Week. May the cooperative spirit continue to guide us towards a more empowered, equitable and prosperous Haryana!
Thank You! Jai Hind!
