Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has extended warm greetings and best wishes to all media persons on National Press Day. The National Press Day, which is celebrated every year on 16th November, draws our attention to freedom and responsibilities of the press,” said Shri Dattatraya.
The Governor said that since the national interest is of paramount importance, press and media persons should use their writings to strengthen democracy, which will increase the credibility of the public towards the press in the country.
Shri Dattatraya said that journalism has emerged as an important profession in today’s time. Even in this period of materialism, media people have to work by balancing moral and human values with materialism. In this era of social media, print media, electronic media, many youths are looking for a future in this business.
All journalists working in the field of media should set an ideal for the coming generation that nation and society are our first priority and one should keep this vital point in mind while moving forward in the field of journalism,” said the Governor.
The Governor said the media of the country has acted with an important responsibility during the time of corona thanks to which the government and administration reached out to the people and helped every needy.
It is hoped that the press of the country will use its writing responsibly, keeping in mind the national security, and will never compromise with facts under any situation, said Shri Dattatraya.
The Governor said that in a democracy, the press performs an important function as a bridge between the government and the people. It does the work of informing the people about the development and welfare schemes run by the government but also brings the problems of the common man to the government’s notice.
