Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has conveyed his good wishes to 54 Indian athletes participating in Tokyo Paralympics 2021, beginning August 24.

“Our 54 athletes are a great example of grit, determination and perseverance to excel in their lives against all odds. 19 players are participating from Haryana. They are not only wonderful players but also great human beings, bubbling with enthusiasm and positivity,” said the Governor on Monday. India has sent the biggest-ever contingent to the Paralympics, which shows India’s commitment to promote sports under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said. The Governor said that our players did exceedingly well in the Tokyo Olympics winning seven medals. “I hope that our youths will adopt sports as a part of their lives and give their 100 per cent,” he said. The Governor also called upon all educational institutions in Haryana to encourage students to participate in extra-curricular activities along with studies which will ensure the holistic development of their personalities.
