It is a privilege to address you today at the 20th Convocation of this esteemed Institution of National Importance.
As the Governor of Haryana, I take immense pride in witnessing how NIT Kurukshetra has become a strategic pillar in both state and national development, especially in advanced technology, human capital formation and value-based education.
Your achievements align closely with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, to which Haryana, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini Ji, is firmly committed through progressive reforms in education, digital governance, industry collaboration and inclusive rural development.
Dear Friends,
Over the past few years, NIT Kurukshetra has undergone remarkable academic expansion. The Institute now offers 15 undergraduate and 28 postgraduate programmes, including M Tech, MSc, MBA, MCA, integrated B Tech–M Tech programmes, and a newly launched MSc in Economics.
The introduction of eight new undergraduate programmes, spanning Industrial IoT to Robotics, Automation and Architecture and Planning, reflects a forward-looking curriculum aligned with India’s future workforce needs.
The Institute is also strengthening its role in India’s research and innovation ecosystem. It is a spoke member of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. Its prestigious ANRF-PAIR project will enable creation of advanced fabrication and characterization facilities.
The Asian Development Bank–supported THRIVE project, with a matching grant of about ₹200 crore, is another major initiative that will help establish Research and Innovation Parks and deepen industry–academia partnerships.
NIT Kurukshetra’s vibrant research culture is reflected in its strong publication output, rising PhD enrolments, 34 sponsored research projects in 2024–25.
Dear Students,
Haryana places high priority on rural transformation and social inclusion, and it is encouraging that NIT Kurukshetra serves as a Regional Coordinating Institute for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
As you receive your degrees today, let this moment be a pledge to use your knowledge with integrity, humility and compassion. Be lifelong learners and contribute to building a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable India—true to the ideal of One Earth, One Family, One Future.
On behalf of the people of Haryana, I congratulate all graduates, your families and the NIT Kurukshetra fraternity. May you rise to great heights and make your state and nation proud!
Thank You! Jai Hind!
