    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya said that the second generation (2G) ethanol bio-refinery plant at Panipat is a significant step towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat

    Chandigarh, August 10, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday said that the second generation (2G) ethanol bio-refinery plant at Panipat is a significant step towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat and will help farmers of Haryana apart from creating new employment opportunities for the youth of the state.

    The plant was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through VC mode. He said that the 2G ethanol plant at Panipat will help boost the production and usage of biofuels in the country.
    Shri Dattatraya, who joined the event virtually from Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, said that the rapid pace of ethanol blending witnessed in the last eight years is ensuring that New India moves forward with clean, affordable and sustainable energy and becomes self-reliant in the field of energy.
    It is worth mentioning that the capacity of the 2G plant of the India Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is 100 Kilo Litres Per Day (KLPD) and has been set up with the estimated cost of around Rs 900 crore.
    This 2G biofuel refinery will be a milestone in the development of the state, said Shri Dattatraya, while thanking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for accelerating the pace of making India self-reliant in the field of energy.

    The Governor also congratulated the people of the state, especially farmers. He said that the new ethanol refinery plant will enable the use of paddy and wheat straw to produce biofuel. The commercial production of the 2G ethanol plant is likely to commence within 90 days.
