    Entire nation is paying homage to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji on his jayanti – Governor

    Chandigarh, April 21, 2022: The 9th Sikh Guru Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was a great warrior, spiritual personality and lover of the nation, who sacrificed everything for the protection of religion, mother land and the rights of the people. That is why he was crowned with the rare honour of ‘Hind Di Chadar.’ This was stated by Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya in his message released on Thursday on the occasion of 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.

    Shri Dattatraya said that the entire nation is paying homage to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji on his jayanti. To mark the 75th year of Independence, the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being observed all over the country. He said that Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji sowed the seeds of fearlessly leading a free life in the hearts and minds of every countryman by making the supreme sacrifice.

    The Governor said that there is no parallel to the sacrifice and martyrdom of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. The whole world gets inspiration from his life, teachings and ideals. He gave up his life but did not shun the path of truth and righteousness.

    Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji had said that religion is not a religion but a duty, and an ideal way of life. Today the teachings and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur are a rare legacy, which we should preserve and promote, and that would be our true homage to him, said the Governor.

    Today’s young generation needs to take inspiration from the life, character and sacrifice of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, and adopt humane and moral values and move forward in life so that India again becomes the Vishwa Guru, said Shri Dattatraya.
