    82nd meeting of the Board of Management of Kurukshetra Development Board at Raj Bhavan

    Chandigarh, June 18, 2025: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday presided over the 82nd meeting of the Board of Management of Kurukshetra Development Board at Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Gita Manishi Swami Gyannand Maharaj, Urban Local Bodies Minister Shri Vipul Goel, Shri Ashok Arora, MLA, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi, Secretary to Governor Shri Atul Dwivedi, other senior officers and members of the KDB were present on the occasion.

    Shri Dattatraya, who is also the Chairman of the KDB, lauded the efforts of the Government being made to bring global recognition to the cultural and spiritual heritage of Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra. The Governor stressed the need that in order to ensure Kurukshetra gains widespread recognition across the country, we must make collective efforts. Kurukshetra holds great religious significance, and therefore, we should envision its development as a grand spiritual city. Scholars and eminent personalities from across the country should be included in the Board.

    Governor Shri Dattatraya also suggested that at least 48 festivals should be celebrated annually in the villages that fall under the 48 Kos, a traditional unit of distance pilgrimage circuit. These events should involve not only the participation of public representatives but also the active involvement of the local communities where these pilgrimage sites are located, he said.
