    Publish Date: April 4, 2022

Chandigarh, April 4, 2022: Advising students to stay disciplined and focussed to excel in their lives, Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has said that there is a need for us to encourage and guide them to become job givers, and not job seekers. There is an immense potential among our students. We need to teach the importance of discipline and focus without which one cannot become a leader in any sphere of life,” said Shri Dattatraya, while speaking as the Chief Guest in the concluding ceremony of Carmel Convent School Model United Nations Conference-2022 here on Sunday evening.

He said that the new National Education Policy-2020 is in sync with the aspirations of our students and is aimed at ensuring their holistic development. “Children – rich in values, culture and discipline – are the real assets for any nation. We must not leave anything unturned to give them our best so that they become responsible citizens of the country,” he said.

Shri Dattatraya said: “Our focus should be on experiments, IQ improvement, building an ecosystem which encourages our students for out-of-the box thinking. We need to teach them about Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Blockchain, Robotics, Design Thinking, Cloud Skills and Machine Learning.”

He said that we are living in a new world order where India has to lead the world with hope and help. “You have seen the way we handled Covid-19 crisis and carried out the vaccination drive. We did not only vaccinate our people but also exported vaccines to other countries. We do take pride in the fact that India supplied Covid-19 related medical and other assistance to over 150 countries since the beginning of the pandemic,” he said.

He called upon students to dream high and have their own startups. “Our youth can do wonders. Remember what Bharat Ratna Dr Nelson Mandela said – ‘It always seems impossible until it is done.’ You all are capable of making great contributions to India’s odyssey towards global excellence,” added he.

Shri Dattatraya said: “We are celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark 75 years of our Independence. Let us draw inspiration from the supreme sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. Let’s imbibe their values in our thoughts and take a pledge to make India a nation of our dreams, where no one is left out!”
