    Shri Bandaru Dattatraya planting a sapling in the premises of Raj Bhavan

    Chandigarh, August 14, 2022: As a mark of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday planted a sapling in the premises of Raj Bhavan on the eve of 76th Independence Day.

    Shri Dattatraya also conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the people of the country and the state on the eve of Independence Day. He called upon them to give their best to take Haryana and the country to greater heights of prosperity and glory. He also urged them to plant saplings in their neighbourhoods to protect the environment.
    “We need to take a pledge to work in unison to make the nation and Haryana cleaner, healthier, happier, and self-reliant by following our great cultural traditions, high moral and human values. During Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, programs related to tree plantation, blood donation, cultural events depicting our freedom struggle and martyrdom of great heroes are being organized all over the country,” he said.
    The Governor said that so far, more than 50 thousand programs have been organized in the country, out of which 10 thousand programs have been organized in Haryana. In this way, Haryana ranks second in the country in organizing programs under the aegis of Azadi Amrit Mahotsav for which the people of the state deserve congratulations, he said.
    Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Gian Chand Gupta, Education, Forest and Environment Minister Shri Kanwar Pal, Secretary to the Governor Shri Atul Dwivedi, ADC Shri Abhishek Jorwal, IT Advisor to Governor Shri BA Bhanu Shankar, Joint Secretary Shri Amarjeet Singh, and Officer on Special Duty Shri Bakhwinder Singh also planted saplings on the occasion.
