    Chandigarh, November 20, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday said that sports are an integral part of life, which ensure all round development of a person and keep him healthy as well. Healthy people are the real asset for a nation. That is why every person should always actively participate in sports competitions. In today’s changing times, there is immense scope for a better career in sports as well.

    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya was addressing as the Chief Guest at the 33rd National Sports Festival organized by Vidya Bharti All India Educational Institute at Kurukshetra University Sports Ground on Sunday. Earlier, Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, National Co-Organization Minister of Vidya Bharti Sansthan Shri Yatindra, Olympian Shri Yogeshwar Dutt, Deputy Commissioner Shri Shantanu Sharma, KUK Vice Chancellor Dr Somnath Sachdeva and other dignitaries formally inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamp.

    Shri Dattatraya, while extending hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the participating players from all over the country in the 33rd National Sports Festival, said that Vidya Bharti All India Educational Institute and its entire team deserve congratulations for the success of this big gathering of budding and rising sports persons.

    He said that Haryana has emerged as a sports hub due to the sports policy of the Central government and the state governments. He said that under the new sports policy, the Haryana government has given Rs 100 crore as cash prize to the players in a year.

    Along with this, a provision of Rs 600 crore has been made for sports in the state budget, which is more than any big state. An amount of Rs 526 crore was spent on sports facilities in the state. 550 new posts have been created for the youth in the department, while 190 sportspersons have been given jobs, he said.
