    Program organized in memory of bravery of BSF Deputy Commandant Sukhbir Singh Yadav at Gourugram

    Chandigarh, May 26, 2022: The history of India is replete with the heroic saga of the martyrs. The bravery of BSF Deputy Commandant Sukhbir Singh Yadav, who was martyred in the Kargil war, is one of them. It is so gladdening that the road from Hero Honda Chowk to Basai Chowk in Gurugram has been named as Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav Marg. This was stated by Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya today after inaugurating Balidani Sukhbir Singh Yadav Marg in Gurugram.

    Shri Dattatraya, while paying tributes to all martyrs of the country while speaking in the program organized in the memory of Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav on the day he made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, at Alpine Convent School, Sector 10, Gurugram, said that the brave sons of Haryana have never shied away from sacrificing their lives in protecting the border of the nation. Their indomitable courage and valour are always remembered.

    The Governor said that Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav, who was born on December 12, 1961, attained martyrdom on May 26, 1999 while fighting the enemies in Kargil. He said that he was the husband of former MP Dr Sudha Yadav, who later made public service her goal. He said that Dr Yadav is bearing the education expenses of the children of 25 poor families of her village, which is a true tribute to Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav.

    Lauding the Central and the state governments for taking care of families of our martyrs, Shri Dattatraya said that we should never hesitate in extending every possible help to the families of our martyrs. They are the real heroes and we should take pride in standing by them in all circumstances, he said.

    Shri Dattatraya said that in order to maintain the unity and integrity of India, our forces are keeping a watchful eye on the borders of Pakistan and China. Today our country is not what India used to be in 1962. India of 2022 is undergoing a holistic empowerment under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Our defence forces have been strengthened by following the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, he said, while urging all to adopt and practice the principle of ‘Nation First’ to make India much more stronger.

    Earlier, Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, while paying tribute to Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav, said that all the noble works that he left unfinished are being taken care of by Dr Sudha Yadav with patience and dedication.

    Shri Yadav said that under the leadership of Dr Sudha Yadav, innumerable works have been done for the welfare of backward classes. For this reason, children belonging to OBC families have got reservation in admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas and medical colleges. Not only this, Dr Sudha Yadav had raised many issues in the Lok Sabha as well. He said that the history of Haryana is the history of India’s transformation as the war of Mahabharata was fought on the soil of Haryana.

    Haryana unit BJP President Shri Om Prakash Dhankhar also paid his tribute to Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav. Talking about all the battles from the first freedom struggle of 1857 to the Kargil war, he said that during the freedom movement, the British hanged 79 people together, which is not mentioned in the history. He said that the Congress has hidden the heroic tales of the martyrs in the history of the country.

    Dr Sudha Yadav, wife of Shaheed Sukhbir Singh Yadav and former MP, welcomed all the guests. In the ceremony, Hon’ble Governor Shri Dattatraya also handed over laptops to 12 meritorious. Somya Yadav, daughter of Dr Sudha Yadav and Siddharth Yadav, son of former BJP MP, thanked everyone for making the program a grand success.
