Ambassador of Italy to India Shri Vincenzo De Luca on Tuesday made a courtesy call on Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya at Raj Bhavan

Chandigarh, December 13, 2022: Ambassador of Italy to India Shri Vincenzo De Luca on Tuesday made a courtesy call on Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. Shri Vincenzo De Luca also presented a book and a G20 tie to the Governor. The Governor discussed in detail about educational, cultural, agricultural, industrial and business relations of India including Haryana with Italy.

Governor Shri Dattatreya said that economic relations can be further promoted by expanding import and export between Italy and India. Haryana can play an important role in this, he said, adding that Haryana has a huge investment potential for Italian companies in health, education and automotive sectors.

The Governor said that by entering into agreements with the universities of Haryana in the field of education, students of India and Italy will get world class education. Presently more than 50000 students are pursuing education in various prestigious universities of Italy.

Shri Dattatraya said the establishment of a Sanskrit Chair in the University of Turin for the study of Sanskrit in Italy reflects the cultural ties between the two countries. Gaspare Gorresio translated the holy Ramayana into Italian, which has given a boost to our bilateral cultural ties as well, said Shri Dattatraya.

Ambassador Shri Vincenzo De Luca informed Shri Dattatraya that Sanskrit Departments are established in many other universities of Italy. He said that from time to time, Italian cultural troupes have visited India and the state of Haryana as well.

Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya honoured Ambassador Shri Vincenzo De Luca by presenting him a shawl and an idol of Lord Shri Krishna.
