Knowledge is the greatest power for nation-building: Bandaru Dattatraya
-Tenth Convocation held at CUH
Chandigarh, November 18: The 10th Convocation of Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, was held on Monday. On this occasion, Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, Governor of Haryana was present as the Chief Guest and Prof Raghvendra P Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, was present as the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, the Chief Guest, Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, extended his best wishes to all the students receiving their degrees. He said, “You are the present and the future of our nation,”. Further he said that in today’s era it is not money but knowledge that is the greatest power for nation-building.
He also urged the youth to become job providers rather than job seekers. He emphasized that the global-level curricula introduced under the New Education Policy would help restore India’s legacy of knowledge and re-establish its glory. The Vice Chancellor of Central University of Punjab Prof Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari congratulated all the degree recipients, stating that today is a day to commit to fulfilling one’s dreams. He urged the students to pledge their contributions to build a new, prosperous, and ambitious India.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and guests of the convocation ceremony. The Vice-Chancellor stated that this day marks a new milestone in the lives of the graduates. He noted that after completing their studies and research, the students are stepping into a world of new possibilities. Highlighting the progress of the university, he said that the institution is continuously advancing in its mission to nurture the students to make the best citizens for the country.
The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that the university is expanding its scope through seminars, workshops, research projects, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign universities, ensuring academic, community, and national interests. As a result, the university is setting new milestones and establishing a unique global identity. Members of the Executive Council, Academic Council and Court of the University, dignitaries from different educational institutions, Deans of different Schools, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Registrar; Prof. Rajiv Kaushik, Controller of Examinations, various officers and faculty members were present.
Degrees were conferred upon 1338 students and 46 students got Gold Medals.
At the 10th Convocation of CUH, Ph.D, M.Phil, Graduate and Post-graduate degrees were awarded to 1338 students and researchers including 46 students who got gold medals. Among these, 192 students in B.Tech, 83 students in B.Voc. while in Post-Graduate 990 students were conferred degrees. Ph.D. degree was awarded to 65 researchers and M.Phil. to 8 researchers. Among 1338 students and researchers, 803 male and 535 female students were awarded degrees.
