Hon’ble Governor inaugurating three-day state level livestock exhibition organized at Bhiwan
Chandigarh, February 25, : Under the Chief Minister Antyodaya Parivar Utthan program, 25,000 units of animal husbandry, piggery and fisheries will be set up in Haryana during 2022-23, which will provide employment to thousands of people. This was stated by Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya in his address at the inaugural function of the three-day State Level Livestock Exhibition at Bhiwani today.
He said the state government has so far disbursed an amount of Rs 924 crore under Livestock Credit Card and Kisan Credit Card. The Central and State Governments under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal are committed to the progress and prosperity of farmers.
He said that during the time of Covid-19 pandemic when the whole country was facing lockdown, the farmers didn’t stop their work and continued farming and allied activities thanks to which we are self-reliant in terms of food grains. Shri Dattatraya said the hardworking farmers of Haryana have brought laurels at national and international level in various fields like agriculture, sports, industry, and education.
He said that Haryana is the first state in the country which is giving support price for 14 crops. Apart from this, Bhav Bhavantar Bharpayee Scheme and Mera Pani, Meri Virasat Yojana are also being implemented for the betterment of farmers in the state. He said that farmers will have to use new irrigation techniques to improve the ground water level.
The Governor said that Haryana is the second largest producer of milk after Punjab. The day is not far off when the state will be the number one state in milk production by adopting best practices.
He said that in order to further improve the breed of milch animals, this wonderful event has been organized at the state level by the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. He exhorted farmers to bring changes in agricultural practices and use modern techniques on a large scale. Along with this, animal husbandry, fisheries, poultry and other businesses related to agriculture will have to be adopted. New startups will have to be started in these areas.
Haryana Agriculture Minister Shri JP Dalal said that the best breeds of animals have been displayed in the exhibition and well-known artists of the state have been called for entertainment. An exhibition has been organized to give the latest information to the farmers. Prizes worth lakhs of rupees will be given during the exhibition.
He expressed his gratitude to the Governor on his arrival in Bhiwani. The Agriculture Minister honored the Governor with a memento and shawl.
Shri Pankaj Aggarwal, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department, said that artificial insemination is being promoted to improve the breed of animals of Haryana. The government has reduced the fee of artificial insemination from Rs 500 to Rs 200. Haryana is the first state in the country to give only one vaccine for mouth and throat disease. Director General of Animal Husbandry Department Dr Birendra Singh Laura said that this exhibition has been organized with the aim of making animal husbandry a profitable and popular pursuit for farmers. He said that 70 more mobile vans would be run to make the veterinarian accessible.
Dr. SK Bagoria, Managing Director, Haryana Livestock Development Board thanked all the guests. Bhiwani MLA Shri Ghanshyam Das Sarraf, Livestock Development Board Chairman and Poondri MLA Shri Randhir Golan, Youth Commission Chairman Shri Mukesh Gaur, Additional Chief Secretary, Fisheries Department, Shri Ashok Khemka, LUVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Vinod Verma and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
