Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr Kamal Gupta during a courtesy meeting with Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan
Chandigarh, December 30, 2021: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya today said that all possible efforts should be made to provide houses to homeless people including migrant labourers and quality civic amenities under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other schemes being run by the Central and state government.
Shri Dattatraya stated this during a meeting with Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr Kamal Gupta, who had made a courtesy call on him at Raj Bhavan, after taking oath as a minister. The Governor congratulated the newly appointed Minister.
Shri Dattatraya said many schemes are being implemented to provide housing and other infrastructural facilities in the cities. Through better coordination with the local bodies, the state government is extending benefits of these schemes to the needy persons, he said.
He said that the migrant labourers, who have been living in Haryana for 10-15 years, should be provided houses on priority so that they are able to participate more efficiently in the development of the state. It is a matter of happiness that AMRUT has been extended till 2022. Under this mission, more than Rs 2500 crore is being spent for development in cities.
Shri Dattatraya said the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is a healthy India, a clean India. To realize this dream, focus should be on running special cleanliness programs in the cities. He is happy that many cities of Haryana have got the first star rating as per the State Swachh Survekshan-2020.
Newly appointed Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr Kamal Gupta said that the schemes being run by the Central and state governments would be carried forward with more speed. He said that world class facilities would be available in all cities of Haryana. He said that he will ensure to bring in punctuality, responsibility, honesty and regularity in the functioning of the department for better results.
Dr Gupta said that on Friday he would hold a meeting of the officers of the department. In the meeting, he will apprise all the officers about punctuality, responsibility, honesty and regularity with which they have to work as a team.
