    Haryana Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice S.K. Mittal meeting the Governor of Haryana, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya at Raj Bhavan

    Haryana Governor, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya said on Thursday that a special campaign will be launched in the state under the housing schemes of the Central and State Governments to provide housing facilities to poor, deprived, and homeless people of the state.

    The Governor stated this to the officers and representatives of various Social Welfare institutions who came to meet him at Haryana Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Haryana Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice S.K. Mittal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Health Department, Mr. Rajiv Arora, Members of Haryana Human Rights Commission Justice K.C. Puri, Shri Deep Bhatia, Vice-Chancellor of Ch. Devi Lal University Prof. Ajmer Singh Malik, Information Commissioner of State Information Commission Shri Narendra Singh Yadav and Vice President of Haryana State Child Welfare Council Smt. Parisha Sharma met the Governor separately as per the pre-determined schedule. He greeted all the officers during separate meetings and accepted their greetings and that of the representatives of various institutions.

    He also shared the work done under his dynamic leadership in the residential sector while he was a Union Minister. He said that when he was the Union Minister of State for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, he started the Valmiki Ambedkar Slum Scheme. There is a need to start other schemes on the same lines, he added.

    Talking to the administrative officers, he said that they should work on the matter of establishing better law and order in the state so that Haryana can be recognized as a model state in the whole country. Along with this, the officers have to work more effectively to make the state crime-free and drug-free. He talked about strengthening health services in the state. He said that the government should have adequate infrastructure facilities to deal with natural calamities like Covid-19.

    Governor Shri Dattatreya said that officers should maintain better coordination at the departmental level, which would bring results of good governance in the state. The year 2021 is being celebrated in the state as the “Year of Good Governance Result.” He said that he is satisfied that the state has moved from e-governance to good governance. More than 550 services and schemes have been made online through Atal Seva Kendras, Saral Kendras, Antyodaya Saral Kendras. This is a good start for a transparent administration.

    Talking about higher education in the state, the Governor said that all the universities should implement the new National Education Policy because universities will have a vital role in the implementation of the new education policy. Laying special emphasis on starting new employment oriented and practical education courses, he also said that he wished that Haryana should become the first state in the country to implement the new Education Policy.

    Shri Dattatreya said that a special action plan would be prepared and implemented through the Child Welfare Council to provide facilities related to education to differently-abled children in the state.

    Meanwhile, Shri Dattatreya also blessed Mr. B.A. Bhanushankar, who on Thursday officially took over as IT Advisor, Haryana Governor.
