Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday said that Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is an inspirational epic for humanity. It guides the entire humanity. Therefore, every person should contribute to the upliftment of humanity by imbibing the essence of the Gita.

Shri Dattatraya, who was speaking at the ‘Sant Sammelan’ organized by the Kurukshetra Development Board during the ongoing International Gita Mahotsav, said that whenever there has been any threat to religion on the earth, then the god himself has come to the rescue of religion.

“We should not be afraid of difficult situations, but should face them boldly. Whenever a situation of confusion arises, then we should take the guidance and inspiration from the Gita,” said Shri Dattatraya. “The Gita is the solution to all problems, confusions and chaos humanity is faced with today,” he said.

The Governor said that commendable work is being done by the state government to take the teachings of the holy Gita to the people. If India has to become a ‘Vishwa Guru’ again, then every person will have to move forward helping each other and every person will have to get the knowledge of Gita.

“Today Gita Mahotsav is being celebrated in many countries of the world and they are getting the knowledge of Gita. The Gita is not for a particular religion but is a universal inspiration of all beings. Kurukshetra is the holy land of India. India has been recognized as a world guru in culture and civilization since ages. The Gita is a rare legacy of India, also a role model for the world,” said Shri Dattatraya.

Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj said the holy book Gita is the pride of not only the nation but of the entire humanity. “From this place, the teachings of the holy Gita have reached every corner of the world,” he said.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev said that ‘Yoga, Karma and Dharma’ are the essence of life. “The person who has read the Gita also understands that he has done yoga. The people of India consider ‘karma’ as religion. So we are far ahead of other countries of the world,” he said.

Swamy Sharanand Maharaj said that the teaching of Gita is a chat between two close friends which is an inspiration for the entire humanity, while Swami Avdheshanand said that the light of the holy Gita is spreading rapidly.
