Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya extends greetings on International Labour Day
Chandigarh, May 1, 2025: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Thursday extended his heartfelt greetings to all workers in the state on the occasion of International Labour Day. He emphasized that the unwavering dedication of workers is the cornerstone of Haryana’s development. The Governor stated that workers in Haryana are not only the backbone of our industries and agriculture but also the true heroes of our socio-economic growth. He highlighted the pivotal role that workers play in realizing the vision of a developed India.
He further informed that the Haryana Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Sing Saini has launched several welfare schemes for workers, including the registration of unorganized sector workers through the e-Shram portal, implementation of health insurance, and enforcement of minimum wage laws. Under the financial assistance and Kanyadaan scheme, an amount of Rs 1,01,000 is now provided for the marriage of workers’ daughters. Additionally, due to the implementation of GRAP-4 in the NCR region, financial assistance worth Rs 265 crore has been extended to 654,000 registered workers. To ensure better healthcare services for workers, new ESIC dispensaries and hospitals are also being established.
Underscoring the importance of worker welfare, the Governor called for collective efforts to safeguard the interests of industrial and other sector workers. He stressed that ensuring a safe workplace, fair wages, and social security for every worker must be our top priority. “Let us all come together to express our gratitude to the hardworking workers of Haryana and resolve to work towards a brighter and more secure future for them,” added Shri Dattatraya.
