Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday expressed deep sorrow on the demise of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav

Chandigarh, October 10, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday expressed deep sorrow on the demise of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav. We have lost a great leader of the old generation, said Shri Dattatraya in a statement.

Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji, also former Defence Minister, remained committed for the welfare of weaker sections of the society. He was the leader of the older generation of socialist politicians who have left an indelible mark on Indian politics, he said.

Shri Dattatraya said that Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji started his life as a teacher and joined politics after being influenced by Dr Ram Manohar Lohia. Born in a simple family, he struggled a lot to succeed in politics, he added.

The Governor said that as the Chief Minister, he carried out a lot of development work in Uttar Pradesh and tried to raise the standard of living of the poor, backward and deprived people throughout his life. Shri Dattatraya has expressed condolences to the bereaved family and millions of his followers, while praying to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
