    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya today participated in ‘Hariyali Parv’ being celebrated by JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad to mark the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and planted the sapling of ‘banyan’ tree in the University Park

    Chandigarh 24 August – Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya today participated in ‘Hariyali Parv’ being celebrated by JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad to mark the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and planted the sapling of ‘banyan’ tree in the University Park.

    It may be noted that the ‘Hariyali Parv’ is being celebrated by the University during the months of July and August. To mark this celebration, the University is inviting eminent personalities from different walks of life to participate in the plantation campaign.

    Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya was in Faridabad to attend the inauguration ceremony of Amrita Hospital, founded by Mata Amritanandamayi ‘Amma’ Math in Sector 88 of Faridabad, on Wednesday. The hospital was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.

    Speaking on this occasion, Sh. Dattatraya urged the students, staff and faculty members of the university to plant saplings to nurture nature and protect the environment. The Governor appreciated the initiative taken by the University to create awareness on environmental issues which is the need of the hour. Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Tomar, Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg, senior faculty and staff members, senior functionaries of district administration were also present on this occasion.

    The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tomar apprised the Governor that the University has been working on a plan to make it mandatory for the students to plant trees and take care of it till their course of study in the University. The student will also have to submit a report with geotagged photographs of the planted tree as a proof of planting and its growth. Through this initiative, the University aims to make the students responsible towards environmental conservation. Prof. Tomar also briefed the Chancellor about the academic growth and infrastructural development in the University.

    Earlier, Shri Dattatraya was given a warm welcome by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Tomar and Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg. The Governor also received the ceremonial guard of honour by the contingent of District Police Administration at the University premises.
