    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday paid his heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifices in protecting the motherland during the Kargil War

    Chandigarh, July 26, 2023: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday paid his heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifices in protecting the motherland during the Kargil War.

    Recalling their bravery during the commemoration of 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas at Haryana Raj Bhavan here, Shri Dattatraya expressed gratitude to the brave soldiers who safeguard the nation’s borders with unwavering dedication. He also highlighted that the spirit of our soldiers fills every Indian with pride.

    Haryana Governor Shri Dattatraya emphasized the significance of the Kargil victory, particularly for the people of Haryana, as out of the 527 martyrs from the Kargil operation, about 100 of them hailed from the state. He extended his respect and condolences to the families of the soldiers from Haryana who lost their lives in the war.

    Shri Dattatraya praised the history of Haryana, noting that the state has a rich legacy of producing brave martyrs. He also said that despite its relatively small geographical area, Haryana contributes over ten per cent of soldiers to the Indian Army, underscoring the strong sense of patriotism among the state’s youth.

    During the event, several officials including Secretary to Governor Haryana, Shri Atul Dwivedi, ADC (P) Shri Arsh Verma, Joint Secretary Shri Amarjit Singh, OSD to Governor of Haryana Shri Bakhwinder Singh, and Comptroller, Raj Bhavan, Shri Jagannath Bains also paid their heartfelt tributes to the martyrs.
