    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Thursday had a courtesy meeting with Ireland Ambassador to India Mr Kevin Kelley

    Chandigarh, June 27, 2024: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Thursday had a courtesy meeting with Ireland Ambassador to India Mr Kevin Kelley. He was accompanied by Mr Raymond Mullen, Deputy Ambassador, Mr Peadar O Hubain, Consul, Second Secretary, Mr Caibre O Fearghail, Head of Visa Office, Third Secretary.

    The Governor stressed the need for further expansion of cooperation between two countries including Haryana in the fields of education, agriculture, science and technology for the mutual benefit of the two friendly nations. He also emphasized the need for greater collaboration in the field of research and development.

    Mr Kelley informed Shri Dattatraya that around 12000 Indian students have applied for further studies in Ireland. Their number is going up every year, he said. Mr Kelley also praised the electoral system of India and the way the Lok Sabha elections were conducted.

    The Governor apprised them about the efficient and transparent functioning of the Election Commission of India. Shri Dattatraya also informed them about the great cultural legacy of Haryana where Lord Krishna delivered the sermon of Gita at Kurukshetra.

    On the occasion, Shri Dattatraya honored them with the idol of Lord Shri Krishna and shawls. Mr Kelley also presented a special gift to Governor Shri Dattatraya.
