Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri performed ‘Jalabhishek’ at the historic Shiva Temple at Saketri, Panchkula
Chandigarh, March 1, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri performed ‘Jalabhishek’ at the historic Shiva Temple at Saketri, Panchkula, today.
Interacting with media persons after performing pooja in the temple, Governor Shri Dattatraya greeted the people of the country and the state on the occasion of the auspicious festival of Shivratri.
He said that today is a very holy day and he was very happy to have ‘Darshan’ of Lord Shiva at the historic Shiv Temple of Saketri. He said the festival of Mahashivratri is a symbol of sacrifice and penance. On this day people all over the country worship Lord Shiva, reposing their faith and reverence in Lord Shiva and observe fast and do ‘Jagran’ during the night.
Shri Dattatraya said that today a large number of devotees have gathered in the temple of Saketri without any distinction of caste and creed to have ‘Darshan’ of Lord Shiva. He said that ‘God is one’ and people from all walks of life have come here to spread the spirit of unity.
Shri Dattatreya said that he has prayed to Lord Shiva to inspire him to do more work in the interest of the people of the country and the state.
MP Shri Ratan Lal Kataria, Deputy Commissioner Shri Mahavir Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shri Mohit Handa and SDM Richa Rathi were also present on the occasion.
