    Chandigarh, May 2, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has extended heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the team of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology for winning medals in various competitions at the Khelo India University Games-2022 held in Bengaluru. The students have brought laurels to the university by winning silver medals in archery, shooting and bronze medals in yoga.
    Bhavna has bagged a silver medal in archery, while Madhu Verma, Anushka, Promila, Raveena and Pooja have won bronze medals in yoga. Isha, Kiran and Manisha have won bronze medals in shooting. “It is a moment of pride for the University and Haryana as well,” said Shri Dattatraya, who is also the Chancellor of the University.
    Congratulating medalists, their parents, Shri Dattatraya appreciated their hard work and said that the purpose of organizing sports competitions in universities is not only to give recognition to talented players but also bring them together under one roof.
    The Governor said that Haryana has become the country’s ideal state in the field of sports. This has been possible thanks to the sports policy of Haryana and the passion and enthusiasm towards sports among the youth. For this the state government and Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal deserve congratulations, he said.
    The Governor-Chancellor congratulated the entire university family including Vice Chancellor Prof BR Kamboj and Registrar Shri Avneesh Verma. Vice Chancellor Prof Kamboj also appreciated students for their remarkable performance. He said that the Sports Department of the University was providing the best possible facilities to them and will make every effort to provide them with the best sports facilities in the future as well
