Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the demise of former Chief Minister of Punjab Shri Parkash Singh Badal

Chandigarh, April 26, 2023: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the demise of former Chief Minister of Punjab Shri Parkash Singh Badal.

In a statement today, Shri Dattatraya said that Shri Parkash Singh Badal was a great personality of Indian politics and did remarkable work for the progress of Punjab and the country during a long tenure of more than seven decades in public life.

As a Union Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation and five times Chief Minister of Punjab, he served the people and democracy with dedication and in a selfless manner. He also went to jail during the Emergency for raising his voice for democracy, he said.

The Governor said that the country would always remember Shri Parkash Singh Badal for his services. He was a visionary, a people’s leader. India has lost old generation of a leader. His ideals and seminal contributions to Punjab’s development will ever be remembered. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family! May his soul rest in peace, added Shri Dattatraya.
