Governor, Shri Bandaru Dattatraya flagging off vehicles containing oxygen concentrators, masks and other materials provided by the Red Cross Society of India
Chandigarh, February 2, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday flagged off two vehicles containing 110 oxygen concentrators, masks and other materials to be used in the fight against Covid-19. Provided by the Red Cross Society of India, these materials will be distributed among district branches of Haryana State Red Cross Society for their further distribution among the needy.
Governor Shri Dattatraya said that Red Cross Society officials should get in touch with more and more social workers and organizations and apprise them about the activities being done by the Red Cross Society in the state so that common men also join them in serving society.
Congratulating Red Cross Society family members for their great works in helping people during Covid-19 pandemic, Shri Dattatraya said that they are corona warriors. They have done commendable work by staying among the public during Covid-19 pandemic. Six thousand volunteers of the Indian Red Cross Society are working to spread awareness and facilitate vaccination to prevent the spread of the third wave of Covid-19.
Shri Dattatraya said that more than 600 oxygen concentrators have already been made available in the districts by the Indian Red Cross Society. He has appealed to the officials and workers of the Red Cross Society to make people aware of the second dose of vaccination and booster dose as well to avoid the third wave of Covid-19. It is a matter of happiness that 100 per cent people of the state have taken the first dose of corona vaccine. Youth in the age group of 15-18 are being vaccinated on a war footing in the state as well.
On this occasion, Secretary to Governor Shri Atul Dwivedi, IAS; Vice Chairperson of Haryana State Red Cross Society Smt Sushma Gupta; General Secretary Shri DR Sharma; Joint Secretary Shri Anil Joshi; new life member Dr Arun Kumar Sharma; CSR Committee chairman Shri Sant Sharma and other officers were present.
