Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya felicitated the officers of Indian Foreign Service at Raj Bhavan
Chandigarh, May 12, 2022: Indian culture is known as a rich culture all over the world. Therefore, efforts should be made to propagate and promote Indian culture abroad. Members of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) can play an important role in this regard. This was stated by Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya while interacting with the 2021 batch IFS officers – Richa Rathi and Ayush Gupta – at Raj Bhavan here today. It was a part of their three-day long interactive session program in Haryana. Ayush Gupta hails from Panchkula while Richa Rathi from Gurugram.
Shri Dattatraya said that wherever they get a chance to serve the country, they should promote Indian culture and values, and should also introduce our cultural and civilizational legacies to Indians living in different countries. He said that new technologies related to education should be brought to Indian universities through foreign universities. It will keep our students updated with best practices going in the world’s other top class universities.
He said that they should look closely at the Indian and foreign administrative system and should also meet the people here so that they can know what kind of problems our people have to face abroad. This will help them to overcome these problems. Whosoever reaches them for help in foreign countries should be helped, he said.
The Governor said that human values are at the core of Indian culture. Keeping human and moral values in mind, if we work to help every needy person, then the prestige of the country will increase at the world level and thus culture will also be promoted. Our culture is reflected in good manners and speaking with each other with love and respect, he said.
Shri Dattatraya also shared his own experience of travelling to more than a dozen countries with IFS officers. He honoured and wished them all the best for their bright future. Both the officers admitted that they learnt a lot from their interaction with Haryana Governor Shri Dattatraya, which will be useful for them.
