Eve of Teej Hariyali festival at Amrit Farm in Kaithal
Chandigarh, July 29, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has said that Teej Hariyali festival is our cultural legacy. It is our collective responsibility to preserve our festivals and spread their essence in society and promote the spirit of amity and brotherhood.
Shri Dattatraya was speaking as the Chief Guest at the state level function organized on the eve of Teej Hariyali festival at Amrit Farm in Kaithal on Friday. He also planted saplings on the occasion.
Shri Bandaru Dattatraya said that a number of positive initiatives like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ have been taken under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji at the national level and in Haryana under able guidance of Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal ji. A large number of SHGs are contributing to holistic empowerment of women across the country and Haryana as well
The Governor said that festivals have a special significance in our lives. They bring positive changes in our lives and the overall human ecosystem as well. The festival of Teej brings happiness in every one’s life, he said.
The State level function was organized by the State Child Welfare Council for whom the Governor also announced a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Smt Kamlesh Dhanda said that Haryana is a rare repository of great cultural traditions of the country. She also announced to give Rs 5 lakh to the State Child Welfare Council from her discretionary fund. MLA Shri Lila Ram welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries on the occasion.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Smt Ranjeeta Mehta, Honorary Secretary General of the Child Welfare Council, HAFED chairman Shri Kailash Bhagat, Nagar Parishad Chairperson Surbhi Garg, Suman Nayab Saini, DC Dr Sangeeta Tetarwal, SP Maqsood Ahmed and others.
