Haryana Governor has greeted the people of the state and the country on the occasion of National Girl Child Day
Chandigarh, January 24, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has greeted the people of the state and the country on the occasion of National Girl Child Day. He said that daughters have always played an important role in the development of the country and the state. Daughters have established themselves in various fields such as social, administration, entrepreneurship and sports.
Shri Dattatraya said that ever since Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi started the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, many other schemes for the welfare of women and girl child have been started in the state. These schemes include Mahila Kishori Samman Yojana, Chief Minister Milk Gift Scheme, Chief Minister Marriage Shagun Yojana and other schemes.
He said the Central and the state government schemes are being implemented effectively in the state. The ratio of women in the state has increased to 914, which was only 876 in 2014.
Shri Dattatraya said that many provisions have been made in the new National Education Policy-2020 to promote the education of girls. New National Education Policy has also been implemented in Haryana. There is an increase in the enrolment of girls in secondary education. Similarly, there has been a qualitative reduction in the child mortality and maternal mortality rate as well.
The Governor said that the Central government has increased the age limit for marriage of girls from 18 years to 21 years. Now girls after completing their higher education will be able to improve their career and will also be able to take care of their families with full responsibilities.
Shri Dattatraya has appealed to all to provide opportunities and facilities to girls to move forward. They should be provided with a platform to enhance their talent. This will be a right step towards accelerating the pace of holistic and inclusive development of the country.
