Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh pays tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his jayanti

Chandigarh, October 15, 2025: Hon’ble Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh on Wednesday paid his humble tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary at Raj Bhavan and interacted with scientists of CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, on the occasion.
Recalling the monumental contributions of Dr Kalam in building a stronger India by spearheading the country’s missile programme, Prof Ghosh said that the nation would always remember him with respect and a deep sense of gratitude.
Prof Ghosh said that as a leading scientist at DRDO and ISRO, Dr Kalam played a key role in developing India’s indigenous satellite launch vehicle (SLV-III) and spearheaded the successful Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998.
The Hon’ble Governor also stated that as the President of India he inspired the entire nation with his humility, simplicity, integrity and vision for a developed and self-reliant India. He was deeply committed to empowering youth through education, innovation and values.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Shri DK Behera, Secretary to Governor; Shri Shubham Singh, ADC to Governor; Dr Satish Kumar, OSD to Governor; Dr Vijay Meena, Dr Satish Kumar, Dr Narender Kumar Jassal, and Dr Amol P Bhondekar, all CSIR-CSIO scientists, and other officials of the Raj Bhavan.
