Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya pays tribute to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his jayanti

Chandigarh, April 11, 2025: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Friday paid rich tributes to the great social reformer and visionary, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, on the occasion of his jayanti at Raj Bhawan.
Remembering Phule’s tireless efforts for social justice, women’s empowerment, and education for the underprivileged, Governor Shri Dattatraya called him a beacon of transformative change in Indian society.
Shri Dattatraya said: “Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was a pioneer of social reform in India who dedicated his life to the upliftment of the marginalized and the voiceless. His work in promoting education, especially for girls and the oppressed, laid the foundation for a more equal and just society. His ideals continue to inspire generations.”
The Governor urged the people of Haryana and the entire nation to imbibe the values and teachings of Mahatma Phule in their lives, and to actively contribute towards building an inclusive, progressive, and equitable society. He emphasized that the path shown by Phule aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, a developed India that leaves no one behind.
“As we move towards the centenary of India’s independence, let us reaffirm our commitment to the principles of equality, education, and social justice that Mahatma Phule championed. These principles are the cornerstone of our journey to realize the dream of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Shri Dattatraya said.
He called upon youth, educators, civil society, and policymakers to draw inspiration from Phule’s life and legacy, and work collectively to bridge social and economic divides. Secretary to Governor, Shri Atul Dwivedi, ADC to Governor Sqn Ldr Shri Mohan Krishna P and other officials of the Raj Bhawan were present on the occasion.
