Haryana Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan with usual fervour and enthusiasm
Chandigarh, November 4, 2024: Haryana Day was celebrated today at Raj Bhavan with usual fervour and enthusiasm, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage, rapid development, and significant contributions to the country’s agricultural and industrial growth.
Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, Lady Governor Smt Bandaru Vasantha, Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, wife Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt Suman Saini graced the occasion.
Amazing cultural performances by artistes, showcasing traditional music, dance forms like Ghoomar and Saang, mesmerized the audience, reminding them of the state’s rich history, vibrant culture, and dynamic progress.
Shri Dattatraya said that Haryana Day is a celebration of the state’s unique culture, traditions, and heritage, highlighting its vibrant folk music, dances like Jhumar, Gidda, and Phag, and the rich traditions of storytelling and craftsmanship.
Governor Shri Dattatraya, while interacting with media persons on the occasion, said Haryana, which played a vital role in the country’s Green Revolution, is today progressing in all fields.
Haryana is also far ahead in implementing various provisions of the new National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020), said Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya.
Governor Shri Dattatraya announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh to the artistes.
Congratulating the people of the state on the occasion, Shri Dattatraya said the state has a deep-rooted historical significance, with sites like Kurukshetra, which is associated with the epic Mahabharata, making it an important cultural and religious landmark.
He said that Haryana has produced numerous top-tier athletes who have brought laurels to India in international competitions, including the Olympics. Haryana Day is a moment to honour this legacy and celebrate the sporting spirit embedded in the state’s culture, added Shri Dattatraya.
After the conclusion of the Haryana Day programme, Chief Minister Shri Naib Saini, while interacting with media, said that Haryana has progressed rapidly. “It is the dream of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047. Haryana will play an important role in making India a developed nation.”
Congratulating the people of Haryana, Chief Minister Shri Saini said: “We will work harder for Haryana’s all-round progress. We have given a better sports policy in Haryana so that the youth of the state can excel in sports.”
The Chief Minister said that our Haryana is a place where people eat milk and curd. “Many players of Haryana have brought laurels to Haryana and the nation by excelling in national and international sports competitions.”
Prominent among those who were also present on the occasion included Haryana Assembly Speaker Shri Harvinder Kalyan, Energy Minister Shri Anil Vij, Development and Panchayat Minister Shri Krishna Panwar, Education Minister Shri Mahipal Dhanda, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana, Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa, and Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (Seva) Minister Shri Krishna Kumar Bedi.
Apart from these, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Shri Krishna Lal Middha, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Shri Rajesh Nagar and Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Shri Gaurav Gautam were also present on the occasion.
Chief Secretary Shri Vivek Joshi, Secretary to the Governor Shri Atul Dwivedi, senior administrative officers and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
