    Chandigarh, July 18, 2024: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya had a detailed meeting with Dr Dharma Rao, Advisor, Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.

    Dr Dharma Rao was accompanied by Dr Anjori Agarwal, National Advisor, Dr Sukhwant Singh, WHO Advisor Haryana, Dr Nishant Soni, WHO Advisor Haryana, Dr Chinnar, APO State TB Cell Haryana, and Ms Sarita Naryal, ACSM State TB Cell Haryana.

    Dr Rao gave detailed information to the Governor of Haryana about the TB free campaign being carried out in the state and how it is helping the people.

    The Governor, who himself is associated with this campaign as ‘Ni-Kshay’ (Friend), said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the target of making India TB free by 2025, that is five years before the target of the World Health Organization, that is 2030.

    For the support of society and community, ‘Ni-Kshay’ (Friends) have been prepared in the country and the state, who will reach every TB patient in the state and provide nutrition, additional diagnosis and professional help.

    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya appreciated the work being done by the officers of the Prime Minister TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and felicitated them. He requested the officers to work as much as possible to create awareness about TB in rural areas, especially among women.

    Dr Dharma Rao informed the Governor that 6157 people in Haryana state are associated with this campaign as Ni-Kshay (Friend), out of which 3635 people are actively working. There are 44241 active TB patients in Haryana state. TB Mukt Panchayat program is being run in Haryana under the Prime Minister TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. So far 580 Panchayats of Haryana have become TB free, he said.

    Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has appealed to all the organizations and intellectuals of the society to join the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan as much as possible and become a part of the public service program and adopt as many TB affected people as possible.
