Hindi journalism is doing great work for strengthening of democracy in India: Governor
Chandigarh, May 30, 2024: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has congratulated the people of the country and the state on the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day. He said that Hindi journalism has played a great role in achieving independence of the country.
Today Hindi journalism is doing an amazing work for strengthening democracy in the country. Celebrating Hindi Journalism Day is a tribute to all those journalists who dedicated their lives to Hindi journalism, said Shri Dattatraya on Thursday.
Jugal Kishore Shukla is considered the torch bearer of Hindi journalism. He started Hindi journalism by publishing Udant Martand weekly newspaper on 30 May 1826. After this, newspapers were published in various languages along with Hindi and other languages and became the voice of the country in the field of mass communication.
Governor Shri Dattatraya said that the media, especially Hindi journalism, acted as a weapon in achieving independence. He said that the press of the country had played an important role in achieving independence, and even in today’s era Hindi journalism is fulfilling its responsibility very well.
Hindi journalism is playing the role of a strong bridge in reaching the public welfare schemes run by the government to the people and in reaching the problems of the public to the government and administration, said Shri Dattatraya.
Shri Dattatraya said that in the era of social media, the importance of Hindi journalism has increased further. Hindi is spoken in the largest part of the country. Therefore, Hindi journalism is an effective medium in mass communication. Today, many youth are making their career in Hindi journalism, he said.
