Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya congratulating Unnati Hooda’s father Shri Upkar Hooda on her winning the Super 100 badminton tournament on phone

Chandigarh, January 31, 2022: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Monday congratulated promising badminton player Unnati Hooda on her winning the Super-100 Badminton tournament. 14-year-old Unnati Hooda hails from Chamariyan village in Rohtak district.

Shri Dattatraya spoke to Unnati and his father Shri Upkar Hooda on phone and said that he is very happy with Unnati’s stellar performance and victory in Odisha Open as she has created a history by winning this prestigious title. Unnati will illuminate India’s name at the international level in the future.

Shri Dattatraya said that Unnati Hooda’s victory has not only inspired the daughters of the state but the entire country to take sports seriously. He wished for the bright future of Unnati and appealed to all parents of the state to provide opportunity to their daughters to move forward in their lives.

Shri Dattatraya today also called up five personalities of Haryana, who have been selected for Padma Shri award, and congratulated them. Shri Neeraj Chopra, Shri Sumit Antil, Dr ML Madaan, Shri Om Prakash Gandhi and Prof Raghuvendra Tanwar have been selected for the Padma Shri award. He said that all of them are not only the pride of the state but of the country and the country will benefit from the services rendered by them in their respective area.
