    State Election Commissioner Mr. Dhanpat Singh had a courtesy meeting with Governor Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday and informed about the peaceful election process of Panchayati Raj Institutions

    Chandigarh, December 05 – Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya has congratulated and congratulated the people of the state as well as the entire team of the State Election Commission for the peaceful conduct of the election process of Panchayati Raj Institutions in the state. Along with this, congratulating all the representatives, he said that they should rise above party politics and work for rural development. Mr. Dattatreya was talking to State Election Commissioner Mr. Dhanpat Singh at Raj Bhavan on Monday. Mr. Singh had a courtesy meeting with the Governor and gave detailed information about the election process of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
    Mr. Dhanpat Singh told that the elections of institutions in the state have been completed peacefully and all the representatives are educated. He said that educated Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishad units will strengthen rural development and there will be more development in the rural areas in the coming times. He told that there are 71696 seats in all the three institutions, out of which Panch, Sarpanch and Panchayat Samiti members have been unanimously elected on 40493 seats. In the remaining 29 thousand 34 seats, representatives have been elected under elections. He informed that among the unanimously elected representatives, there are 40,092 posts of panchs, 284 posts of sarpanch and 117 posts of panchayat committees. Along with this, 1769 posts have remained vacant due to some reasons. Among the vacant posts, 1757 posts are for Panchs and 12 posts are for Sarpanchs.
    Mr. Dhanpat Singh also congratulated all the officers and employees involved in the election process and said that they all have an important contribution in conducting the elections in a fair manner.
