Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki takes oath as Governor of Himachal Pradesh-17.07.2018

Shimla, July 17  Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana, who has been given the additional charge of the office of Governor of Himachal Pradesh, took oath here today. Lady Governor Smt. Rani Solanki was also present on this occasion.

Acting Chief Justice of HP High Court Mr. Justice Sanjay Karol administered him the oath of office in a simple yet impressive ceremony held at Raj Bhawan. Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, who is also Minister-in-waiting, was also present on the occasion.

The Governor was given an impressive Guard of Honour on the occasion.

Chief Secretary Vineet Chaudhary read out the warrant of appointment.

Speaker Dr. Rajiv Bindal, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Food & Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, MLAs, Judge of HP High Court Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Vice Chancellors, DGP Dr. S.R. Mardi, Chairperson, State Commission for Women Daizy Thakur, secretaries, senior officers of State government, other dignitaries and family members of the Governor were also present on the occasion.

“Himachal is a small but important State and getting additional charge of Governor of Himachal Pradesh has added a new chapter in my life”, said the Governor on the sidelines of the function.

Governor visits  RHRS Mashobra

Shimla, July 17  Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki along with Lady Governor Smt. Rani Solanki today visited Regional Horticultural Research and Training Station at Mashobra near shimla.

While interacted with the scientists, the Governor appreciated the contribution of this research station in the development of horticulture sector in the state particularly in the upper Shimla region.

He appreciated the natural beauty of the place. He said that Himachal Pradesh had great tourist destinations which attracted lakhs of tourists every year and added that it was truly an Abode of Gods where one can find peace in the serene valleys and salubrious climate.

Dr. Pankaj Gupta Associate Director welcomed the Governor and apprised him about the different varieties of apple and other research work being carried out at Research Station.
